Chillies

If you ever find yourself in Pontarddulais and craving something spicy, satisfying, and full of bold South Asian flavor, Chillies on St Teilo Street is where your tastebuds want to be. Nestled in the heart of Swansea’s charming suburb, this Indian restaurant has carved a name for itself among locals and visitors alike, and for good reason.

From the moment you walk through the wheelchair-accessible entrance, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel less like a restaurant and more like a gathering spot for flavour lovers. With comfortable dine-in seating and accessibility features thoughtfully in place-including accessible toilets and seating-it’s easy for everyone to enjoy a relaxed meal here.

Now, let’s talk food-because that’s really where Chillies shines. One of the standout choices on the menu is the Chicken Tikka Jeera Madras. This dish combines the boldness of Madras curry with the aromatic twist of cumin seeds, elevating the already juicy chicken tikka into something unforgettable. If you’re the kind of person who likes to turn up the heat, the Vindaloo delivers the fiery punch you’re looking for. It’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s definitely a fan favorite for heat-seekers.

For those looking to try a bit of everything, the Thali is a solid choice. It's a platter-style meal that brings together multiple curries, rice, breads, and more, making it perfect for first-timers who want to sample across the menu. Pair it with a side of crispy Papadum and their house Dips, and you’re all set.

And then there’s the Chicken Biryani-fragrant, perfectly cooked rice layered with tender chicken and infused with spices that transport you straight to the streets of Hyderabad. It’s rich, satisfying, and one of the most popular orders for a reason.

If you're in the mood for something more casual, the Spicy Chips and Chicken Chat offer the perfect mix of street food comfort and sit-down quality. These small plates are packed with flavor and ideal for sharing-or not, if you're feeling greedy.

Drink offerings here are diverse enough to cater to all preferences. Whether you’re winding down with a Heineken, enjoying a glass of wine with dinner, or sipping on a hot coffee to end the meal, there’s something for every kind of diner. Halal food options and vegetarian-friendly dishes ensure that dietary needs are covered without compromising on taste.

Another aspect that sets Chillies apart is their dessert game. Though not every Indian restaurant gives attention to the sweet finish, Chillies knows how to end a meal on a high note. Their great dessert selection has become something of a hidden gem within the menu-so if you have room after the spice fest, it’s worth exploring.

Service-wise, you’re in good hands. The staff are friendly without being intrusive, always ready with recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. The restaurant is popular for dinner and works well for solo diners who just want to enjoy a good meal in peace, without feeling out of place.

In terms of flexibility, Chillies offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options. So whether you’re in the mood for a night out, a cozy meal at home, or a late-night food fix, they’ve got you covered.

Overall, Chillies strikes a balance between authentic Indian flavors and a laid-back local vibe. It's not trying too hard to be fancy, and that's exactly why people keep coming back-it feels real, the food tastes homemade (but better), and there’s a consistency in both service and quality that makes it a reliable go-to spot in Pontarddulais.

Chillies is the best restaurant in Pontarddulais and has been for years. The food is superb, the staff attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The prices for the meals are reasonable. If you're going for delivery, the wait time is also excellent and almost as good as if it was served in the restaurant. Well worth the visit.

We called for a takeaway tonight and we knew exactly what we wanted, neither of the dishes were hoping for were on the menu. Yet they accommodated to our every need and the food turned up really quickly and hot.The spicy chicken korma and Goan fish curry were to die for! Plus it was exactly what we were hoping for. Thank you so much!

Ordered a delivery. They advised my delivery would be an hour when I ordered, 5 minutes before estimated arrival they called me to apologise that it would be 10 minutes late. It arrived on time piping hot and beautiful as ever. Best service, best food!!

Stunning curries, very polite staff even gave my wife a rose as it was valentine's Day! My dish was the red curry pictured below, it was a Murgh Bengal Special, quite a sweet creamy curry with minimal heat but lots of flavour, the minced lamb in the sauce was undetectable. My wife's dish was the browner dish a garlic chilli chicken, this was quite spicy, probably a hot curry, the heat wasn't overpowering but definitely there, there was also a lot of flavour to the dish. Will definitely go again on my next diet cheat day.
